Full and Part Time Theraputic Residential Specialist
Regular Position compensated Bi-Weekly
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Graduate/GED, Valid Driver’s License, First Aid, CPR. Ability to read, write speak common English vocabulary. Ability to make brief and accurate oral or written report concerning observation and services provided. Valid Driver’s License with no driving restrictions neither personal nor imposed by the DMV. Valid vehicle insurance on vehicles driven while on duty. Physically and mentally competent to work with youth and families struggling with mental health and AoD issues. Typically 10-65 yrs of age occasionally older or younger. Strength to lift 50-100 lbs. Must pass a BCII and or FBI criminal background check.

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Supervisor, trains mental health clients to reach maximum independent functioning in self-help/daily living skills:
Essential Duties:
Provides Clients with instruction and assistance with personal care (ex.: bathing/grooming, toileting, etc …) and homemaker services, (vacuuming, laundry, dusting, cooking etc…) Based upon established department standards of care, provides therapeutic crisis intervention,; precautionary measures, such as: suicide, assault and escape monitoring. Has knowledge of and training in the use of restraint/seclusion; monitors and records vital signs, weight/height and/or any other physical condition; administers life-saving techniques (e.x. CPR, First Aid..) as required; Participates in development of ITP’s: observes/reports alterations in client’s behavior, physical appearance and demeanor and sleep habits and provides information regarding alterations in patient behavior to Supervisor & other treatment team members as appropriate. Recommends changes in treatment intervention as indicated by client’s response to treatment and care. Performs clinical charting and required documentation, (e.x. assessed response to ITP; care plan and medication; unusual behavior; incidents and/or injuries; completion of Unusual Incident Reports when necessary…); attends scheduled training as assigned and performs other direct care duties as assigned.
